At the outer station, Vestamager Station, the line meets the 2000-hectare protected nature area Kalvebod Fælled.
Nowhere else in Europe will you find a nature area of this size so close to a big city. Close to the station, Ørestad's newly built apartment blocks rise up along the metro tracks alongside the modern and critically acclaimed residential building 8-tallet.
The large building sits like a mountain in the landscape before the large, flat grassy areas take over the scene.
Close to the station you'll also find Naturcenter Amager, where you can learn more about animals and nature or rent bikes if you want to experience Kalvebod Fælled on two wheels.
