The Metro goes to
Copenhagen city centre, Kongens Nytorv
Kongens Nytorv is located in the centre of Copenhagen. The square dates back to 1670 and is surrounded by grand buildings and mansions such as the Royal Theatre's Old Stage and one of Denmark's finest hotels, Hotel D'Angleterre.
From the station you can take the escalators directly into the Magasin department store, which also provides access to the pedestrianised Strøget shopping street. Next to Kongens Nytorv is the old harbour canal Nyhavn, which is buzzing with summer atmosphere in July and August, while the smell of mulled wine and roasted almonds hangs in the air in December.
At the end of Nyhavn you'll also find Skuespilhuset, part of the Royal Theatre, and Inderhavnsbroen, which connects Nyhavn with Christianshavn.
Kongens Nytorv is the only station where you can switch between each of the four metro lines. By 2025, Kongens Nytorv is also expected to be Denmark's third busiest station with 90,000 daily passengers, surpassed only by Hovedbanegården and Nørreport.
