Until 2007, Lergravsparken was the terminus of the M2 metro line. In autumn 2007, the last part of the line from Lergravsparken to Copenhagen Airport opened.
The area around Lergravsparken Station consists of a large residential neighbourhood that has given the station its name. Lergravsparken Station is located in a corner of a green park with good lawns and a manned playground.
Lergravsparken has been and is a gathering place for countless Amager residents. In the past, there used to be an ice rink in the winter, much to the delight of the area's children.
The park has been used especially for sports by the children from Sundpark school.
