Tip. At Sluseholmen you can also explore René Schmidt's giant steel sculpture and bombastic concrete relief. Read more about the artworks at the metro station
Dine at a floating restaurant
Just off Teglværksbroen - a few minutes' walk from Sluseholmen Station - you can board the houseboat Restaurant Vandvid with the most beautiful water views from all sides.
The restaurant serves small dishes made with fresh ingredients from local suppliers and grows their own herbs and flowers on the floating garden raft. You can also explore their exciting wine list.

Discover the soul of the South Harbour
Bådklubben Valby is a small breathing space in Sluseholmen that acts as an original buffer between the old South Harbour environment and the new architectural buildings.
Along the harbour are 34 small red boathouses that you can stroll past and enjoy the imaginative decorations. The boat club is also famous for its beautiful clubhouse built in the water.

Sailing in the canals
The many cosy canals and beautiful bridges invite you to go sailing. Take your SUP board under your arm and paddle out on the calm water.
At Havneslusen Nord you can also borrow a free kayak from GreenKayak if you collect rubbish in the bucket provided and help keep Copenhagen's waters clean. You can book an appointment with GreenKayak.

Walk around the harbour
From Sluseholmen you can walk the 13 kilometre long route, Havneringen, which is the ultimate walk in Copenhagen. From Sluseholmen you walk along the edge of the harbour past Amager Fælled, Islands Brygge, Christianshavn, Nyhavn and Vesterbro before returning to where you started.
The tour offers a fantastic insight into how diverse Copenhagen is, from unspoilt green spaces and houseboats to new buildings and architectural gems. See map of Havneringen

Hop i havnen
Jump in the harbour
Don't forget your swimwear because there are plenty of opportunities to swim at Sluseholmen. Not far from the metro station, the lagoon-like harbour bath beckons with a cold dip, sunbathing or a fresh plunge from the three-metre platform. The harbour baths are open all year round, and during the summer months there are lifeguards on duty to keep an eye on bathers.
You are also allowed to swim from the two smaller bathing zones at Halfdansgade and Richard Boones Vej (waterstairs).

Guide: Where to get exotic White Lotus vibes in Copenhagen
Season 3 of The White Lotus is set in a luxury hotel in Thailand, but you don't have to travel far to get the same feeling. Take the Metro to one of the city's beautiful spa hotels and enjoy the tranquillity for a day.

Get an authentic taste of Thailand close to the Metro
Mmm... pad thai, panang curry and satay. If Thai cuisine makes your teeth water, Copenhagen has plenty of places to eat where it almost feels like you're in Thailand itself.
