Tired of running around the Lakes? Take the Metro to 5 beautiful running routes in the city
Kløverstierne at Kalvebod Fælled
Lace up your running shoes and take the Metro to Vestamager, where four different running routes await you on the open expanses of Kalvebod Fælled.
As soon as you step out of the Metro, you’ll find yourself right in the middle of this vast protected area, where you can encounter grazing sheep, deer, birds, and flat trails stretching for at least a kilometer, free from any city noise.
Depending on how you’re feeling that day, you can choose between the green (2.5 km), blue (5 km), red (7.5 km), and black (11–13 km) trails.

Amager Strandpark
If you dream of feeling the fresh sea breeze on your face, a leisurely pace, and the most stunning view of the Øresund Bridge, just take the Metro to Øresund.
Here you’ll find the Amager Strand Stien, a wide, flat, paved promenade along the sandy beach where you can run without having to worry about car traffic or traffic lights.
If you run out to Café Baaden and turn back, the route is about 4.6 km. If you’re feeling energetic, you can extend the route past Kastrup Søbad to finish at about 6 km.

Damhussøen
It’s always a little nicer to run along the water. If you’re not in the mood for the beach, the route around Damhussøen is a lovely, peaceful path with wide, paved trails where you can enjoy the view of the lake’s many birds and beautiful swans while you run.
Take the Metro to Flintholm and start your run right away, heading down through Grøndalsparken and from there continuing around Damhussøen. This makes for a run of about 6 km.
If you want to run farther, you can extend the route by including Damhusengen as well, bringing the total to 8 km.

Valby Parken
With the new M4 extension, you can get off at København Syd and run straight to Valby Parken, one of Copenhagen’s most undisturbed parks, featuring large open grassy areas, themed gardens, and wild nature.
If you run down to the water, you can extend your walk over to the protected nature area Sydhavnstippen, where you can encounter alpacas and sheep.
The area is full of small paths crisscrossing the landscape, so you can create exactly the route that suits you.

Den Grønne Sti
If you dream of running undisturbed but still immersed in city life, Den Grønne Sti is perfect—it’s a bike and walking path that cuts through the city, bypassing car traffic. Take the Metro to Skjolds Plads and run across Tagensvej, where the path begins.
From here, you can soak up the Nørrebro vibe as you run through Superkilen, Den Røde Plads, and Nørrebroparken. Cross Åboulevarden via the bike bridge and head to the Frederiksberg side, where you’ll run directly onto the quiet, secluded paths behind the backyards of the Frederiksberg villas.
If you end your run on Fasanvej, you can take the Metro home after about 4 km—or turn around and run back, making the route 8 km.
