1. Where in Copenhagen do you feel most at home?

"When I'm biking around town. I love the freedom of just hopping on my bike and getting everywhere. Gammel Kongevej, in particular, feels like home. It’s my route to work and almost always the route I take when I need to go somewhere in the city. I get some fresh air and take in the life around me. Sunshine and calm winds certainly add to the excitement."

I like the combination of water, tranquility, and the people around me.

2. What is your most vivid memory of Copenhagen?

"It’s the many walks I’ve taken with my mother over the years. We start in Frederiksberg and might end up walking to Kongens Nytorv, then on through Østerbro to Nordhavn, and back home via Nørrebro. We walk without a set plan, take small side streets, and remember to look up. Along the way, we often stumble upon something happening in the city, stop to take it in, and come away with a new experience. Sometimes we chat away, other times we just walk and look around. And if we’ve been a little too ambitious with the distance, luckily there’s always the Metro to take us home."

3. What is your favorite experience in Copenhagen?

"Eating my way through the city. There are so many exciting restaurants, and every time I try one place, it seems like three new ones have popped up that I want to visit, too. Right now, I’m especially fond of Aye Aye on Toldbodgade, close to Sankt Annæ Plads. Great food, a beautiful view of the harbor, and an atmosphere that makes me want to stay put. I love dinners that turn into whole evenings.

I also love a good cup of coffee at Original Coffee in Nordhavn. I like the mix of water, tranquility, and people around me."

With My Copenhagen, we'll take you on a surprising journey through the city, where well-known Copenhageners share their hidden gems.

4. What hidden gem is almost too good to share?

"Carlsberg Byen and, in particular, J.C. Jacobsen’s Garden. Of course, the entire neighborhood isn’t a secret, but the garden is a lovely little hidden gem tucked away among the buildings. I like the combination of the old brewery buildings, restaurants, wine bars, and the green garden. I also love Bibliotekshaven. Especially in the summer, when it reminds me why I love Copenhagen so much."

5. Which metro station is most important to you?

“Kongens Nytorv. It’s one of my go-to spots when I’m meeting up with friends, going out to eat, or just taking a stroll. Once I get to the square, the day or evening can go in all sorts of directions. And with all four metro lines converging there, I can easily head somewhere else if my plans change.”
