This year marks the 30th anniversary of the first Copenhagen Pride parade through the streets of Copenhagen. This year, you can look forward to seeing around 25,000 participants with decorated floats, loud music, and a riot of colors, while thousands of spectators cheer them on along the route.
The parade begins on Saturday, August 15, at 1:00 p.m. at Frederiksberg City Hall and proceeds along Frederiksberg Allé and Vesterbrogade to Rådhuspladsen, which has been renamed Pride Square for the occasion.
Along the route, there are four different metro stops where you can find a good spot to watch the parade—depending on the atmosphere you’re looking for. If you’d rather join the procession than watch from the sidelines, you can simply join a group along the route. After all, it’s all about taking part.

1: Frederiksberg – Be there from the start
From the Frederiksberg metro station, it’s just a short walk to Frederiksberg City Hall, where the parade kicks off at 1:00 p.m.
The square buzzes with music, colors, and excited spectators before the first floats roll out onto the approximately four-kilometer route toward Rådhuspladsen.

2: Frederiksberg Allé – Get the best view
If you’d like a slightly more relaxed parade experience, get off the Metro at Frederiksberg Allé.
The beautiful, wide avenue offers a great view as the floats roll by, and there’s generally a little more room to stand than in the narrow streets of Indre By.

3: Copenhagen Central Station – The Party's in high gear
If you’re more into big crowds, a lively atmosphere, and great energy, take the Metro to Copenhagen Central Station, where the area around Hammerichsgade and Vesterbro Torv is buzzing with life throughout the parade.
This is where the crowd really thickens, and the festive atmosphere really takes off. However, it’s a good idea to arrive early if you want to secure a spot along the curb.

4: Rådhuspladsen – The celebration reaches its climax
No matter where you’ve watched the parade along the route, you can take the Metro to Rådhuspladsen and experience the grand finale when the parade ends.
The first floats will begin rolling into Pride Square around 3:00 p.m., where DJ Liljenberg will be on stage to welcome them. The rest of the evening will feature the Parade Show, drag performances, speeches, and live performances by artists such as Ericka Jane, Sissal, and Søren Torpegaard Lund.
