Go on a bat safari at Amager Strand 

Have you ever seen a bat up close? During Night in Nature, you can explore the night at Amager Strand with a bat detector in hand and learn more about these secret nocturnal hunters. Take the Metro to Øresund.

In the first few hours after sunset, bats fly out to hunt insects, and with the help of ultrasound, you can hear their otherwise silent cries and discover how they navigate in the dark.

The safari costs 50 kr. per person and requires registration.

Explore the plants and animals of the night at the Botanical Garden

The Botanical Garden is not far from the Metro station at Nørreport, and you’ve probably visited this beautiful park before. But something completely different happens when darkness falls and the plants and animals of the night awaken.

Bring a flashlight and look forward to exploring the night’s glowing petals and alluring scents. At the Botanical Workshop, you can also get your hands dirty, plant your own flowers for the night’s butterflies, and test your knowledge of nocturnal animal sounds.

An atmospheric evening by the campfire

For Night in Nature, Kristkirken invites you to an atmospheric evening in the dark right by the Metro at Enghave Plads.

First, there’s a communal meal in Kristkirken’s cozy courtyard, after which all the children are transformed into nature detectives and sent out to search for clues, sounds, and hidden life right in the middle of the city. Because just how much nature is actually hiding right in the middle of the city?

The evening wraps up around the campfire with guessing games and funny faces, hot cocoa, and cozy fun under the starry sky.

Go on a night hike at Sydhavnstippen

At Sydhavnstippen, you can see herds of alpacas, sheep, and goats grazing during the day, but when the sun goes down, a whole new world comes to life.

Take the Metro to Mozarts Plads and join Karens Minde Kulturhus on an exploration to find the animals we rarely see during the day, and learn more about what actually happens in nature when darkness falls.

Explore the ocean's nocturnal animals at Amager Strand

Take the Metro to Øresund for Night in Nature and join us for a sensory nature experience with the Amager Strand Nature Center.

Equipped with waders, a diving torch, and underwater binoculars, you’ll be sent out into the shallow water to explore the nightlife beneath the surface. Look forward to seeing everything from tiny glowing shrimp and curious crabs to lightning-fast fish.

The wading tour costs 75 kr. per person and requires registration.
