If you love running but miss having company, there are plenty of running groups in Copenhagen. Here, you run together and then enjoy a coffee, a beer, or a pastry afterward. Take the Metro there and arrive with fresh legs.

Mikkeller Running Club Copenhagen

Put on your running gear and take the Metro to Copenhagen Central Station—then it’s just a short warm-up run to Warpigs on Flæsketorvet, where MRC Copenhagen meets every Monday and Wednesday at 5:00/5:30 p.m.

The running club was created to bring together runners who love good beer, camaraderie, and adventure. And there’s room for both those who run super fast and those who take it a bit easier, with four different paces ranging from 5:45 to 4:15 per kilometer.

The runs are free and don’t require registration. Just show up—everyone is welcome.

MRC Copenhagen also runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays from Mikkeler & Friends on Stefansgade and on Fridays from Mikkeler Bar on Victoriagade.

Mad & Kaffe Running

Take the Metro to Enghave Plads and kick off your weekend with a leisurely morning run through Copenhagen. M&K Running organizes morning runs every Friday at 7:00 a.m.

On even weeks, the meetup is at Mad & Kaffe in Vesterbro—and on odd weeks, it alternates between Mad & Kaffe Frederiksberg and Amagerbro. The plan is the same every Friday: a 5-kilometer run at three different paces ranging from 5:00 to 6:00, so everyone can find a pace that suits them.

After the run, there’s breakfast and coffee—sign up here.

If you’re up for more, there are also interval runs and long-distance runs with a minimum pace of 5:30 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.

Absalon Running Club

Every Monday, you can join one of Copenhagen’s friendliest running clubs for a run starting at the Enghave Plads metro station: Absalon Løbeklub.

The running session takes place from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. and consists of interval training combined with strength exercises and fun games. Participation is free, and everyone is welcome—whether you’re an experienced marathon runner or a beginner.

On the first Monday of every month, the running club gets together for a group meal at Absalon after training.

GRØD Social Runners

Lace up your running shoes, hop on the Metro to Nørrebros Runddel, and join GRØD Social Runners for a fun run—followed by a free serving of oatmeal with apples, caramel sauce, and almonds.

The porridge run takes place on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month at 9 a.m. from the porridge bar on Birkegade, where participants run a 5–6-kilometer route around the lakes. There’s always a lead group and a tail group, so runners of all levels can join in.

There are a limited number of spots for each run, so if you want to secure a spot, download the GRØD app and create an account.

Bodenhoff Carb Runners Club

From Christianshavn, it’s just a short run to Bodenhoff, which hosts a run with the Carb Runners Club every Saturday at 10 a.m.

The run is held at a pace of about 6:20 per mile, so everyone can join in, and after the run, coffee and cheese-filled buns await.

Space is limited, so sign up here.
