Enjoy freedom on the water
The beautiful canals of Copenhagen Harbour invite you to go kayaking - and luckily there are many opportunities to get out on the water. If you take the Metro to Kongens Nytorv, for example, it's only a short walk to Kayak Republic, where you can rent a kayak for up to four hours.
Book your next kayaking experience at Kayak Republic - or borrow a free kayak from Green Kayak in exchange for picking up litter in the harbour along the way.

Go for a run by the Lakes
If you fancy lacing up your running shoes in Copenhagen, the route around the Lakes is a true classic. If you get off the Metro at Copenhagen Central Station, you can start at the Frederiksberg end and run across Nørrebro and Østerbro to get the full experience of the city.
You'll be in good company of other runners - and probably a few prams or strolling couples too, so be prepared to do some zigzag running. If you take the tour around all three lakes, you'll have 6.3 kilometres in your legs, but you can easily break it up into smaller chunks.

Bring out your inner skater
Fælledparken is not only a beautiful green oasis, it's also home to Northern Europe's largest skate park. Pack your skateboard, BMX bike or roller skates and take the Metro to Vibenshus Runddel. Then you're ready to try your hand at ollie, rock to fakie and kickflip.
The surface is made of concrete rather than asphalt to create the best experience, and the skatepark is divided into three levels of difficulty, so there are challenges for both beginners and experienced skaters.

Ball throwing in Enghaveparken
Meeting a group of friends for a game of pétanque in Enghaveparken is almost like standing in a park in Marseilles. The M3 line takes you directly to Enghave Plads, which is right opposite the park, and then it's all about gravel, balls - and having fun.
Copenhagen Pétanque Club is located at the main entrance, where you can borrow balls if you don't have your own.

Work out on top
A quick change to the M4 takes you to Nordhavn, where you'll find Copenhagen's fanciest workout facility, Konditaget Lüders. The 2400 square metre facility is located on top of the parking garage, so you can enjoy the unique view of the harbour while you work out.
You can do crossfit, TRX, play football, jump on trampolines, swing and climb - or go for a run on the 60 metre long sprint track.

Land soft this fall: Grab your knitting and take the Metro to small knitting gems in the city
This weekend is all about knitting as the Pakhustrik 2025 festival takes place. We've gathered some of the city's nicest places where you can cozy up with yarn close to the Metro.

Between the lines: “Right now, we're not living – we're surviving.”
Between the lines: Every day, thousands of people travel on the Metro, and behind every face there is a story. In Frederiksberg, we met Karina and 15-year-old Sigrid, who has fought hard to get where she is today.

Mie Olise Kjærgaard: “Copenhagen stands out with its abundance of water and long light.”
My Copenhagen: Artist Mie Olise Kjærgaard has lived in London, New York, and San Francisco, but Copenhagen still holds her heart—especially because of the light, the water, and the architecture.
