We met a few years ago at a bar, where our roomies introduced us as a sort of buddy match.
I'm probably more of an overthinker than Simon, and can dwell on small things. Also in a way that's not always healthy.
In our group of friends, we're good at being there for each other. But I haven't always been good at talking about feelings.
Men in relationships with other men can find it difficult to dig deep and really get under each other's skin.
I learned this from my friends in high school and from my father. But also at a college I went to five or six years ago. The college really gave it a boost.
Of course, something also happens when you get older. The frontal lobes grow together and you get more life experience.
It's like exposure therapy - the more contexts we are exposed to, the more awareness of emotions grows.
