My Copenhagen: Timm Vladimir loves the special atmosphere in Nørrebro, the diversity and the small cafés and vintage shops – and is now opening his own coffee and cocktail bar in this colorful district.

Timm Vladimir, 57, actor, TV host, author and the man behind Timm Vladimir's Kitchen. Has just opened Holy Bean Coffee & Cocktails in Nørrebro, where he lives.

    1. When does Copenhagen feel most like your city?

"I always have a special feeling when I come home from work late at night and drive over Dronning Louise Bridge. I love the green neon signs driving around when it's dark. Copenhagen is just a really lovely city, but I love Nørrebro the most, where I live. It has a great vibe, which I really like, and there is a great diversity of different people. I like to travel, and when you walk around the streets of Nørrebro, it sometimes feels like being abroad. Nørrebro has the coolest Copenhagen feeling for me."

    2. What place in the city do you always return to?

"I really like Ravnsborggade in Nørrebro. There are lots of cozy little cafés and great vintage shops - not just with clothes, but also with interiors like Moment KBH, where I've found lots of beautiful old cocktail glasses for example. And then there's just a really good atmosphere. People sit outside all year round - it's great."

    3. What hidden gem in the city is almost too good to share?

"Down by the lakes is Lago, which is the nicest little cocktail bar, right on the water. It's a tiny little place, but they do really nice food and some insanely good cocktails. I love cocktails and Lago has a cocktail menu that you can have with your food - it's a really cool experience."

    4. What's your best tip for a unique experience in Copenhagen on a rainy day?

"I'm not so afraid of rain - there's no need to stay home because of it. I really like to go for a walk in the rain and maybe pop into a little bar or cozy café and have a coffee and just sit and look out at the rain."

Copenhagen is just a really lovely city, but I love Nørrebro the most, where I live. There's a great vibe here that I really like.

    5. Which metro station is your favorite?

"I live close to Nørreport, so it's the one I use most often, but every time I go to Gammel Strand, I'm always impressed by how far underground it is. I always think: Wow, it's really far up."
