Take the M3 line to the city's fascinating museums
Learn more about Copenhagen
Who are the people of Copenhagen and what kind of city is Copenhagen? Find out with a visit to the Copenhagen Museum, located in a beautiful, historic building just behind the City Hall. Just get off the Metro at Rådhuspladsen and you're here.
The museum provides an overview of Copenhagen's neighbourhoods in the fascinating 3D model and lets you dive into the most important events in the capital's 800-year history, from plagues and fires to bombings.

Explore antique sculptures
In the heart of Copenhagen lies the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, founded by Carl Jacobsen, who in addition to brewing beer was also a passionate collector.
The museum is around the corner if you hop off the Metro at Rådhuspladsen and offers an impressive collection of antique art and sculptures in beautiful surroundings. In the permanent collection alone, there are approximately 10,000 works of art to explore. If you need a break, you can retreat to the large subtropical Winter Garden with ancient palm trees and a lovely café.

Experience a hypermodern art centre
Kunsthal Charlottenborg is one of the largest and most beautiful exhibition spaces for contemporary art in Northern Europe and with its location right by the station on Kongens Nytorv, a visit couldn't be easier.
Kunsthallen is now a must-see for any art lover as they present leading exhibitions by both emerging and established stars. This autumn, for example, you can dive into the Poetics of Encryption exhibition about art and artificial intelligence.

Dive into innovative art
The venerable old Kunstforeningen Gl. Strand has a new director who has rebranded the exhibition centre with the new name Gammel Strand - and it's at this very station on the M3 line that you can conveniently hop off.
Not only does the museum offer excellent exhibitions, the Nørrebro bakery Flere Fugle has also moved into the basement of the Lille Fugl café, where you can refuel on coffee, natural wine and award-winning pastries.

Danish design at its best
What is special about a Børge Mogensen sofa, a Panton lamp or a Wegner chair? Design Museum Danmark explores this in their new permanent exhibition Danish Modern, which unfolds the history of Danish design from the 1920s to the 1970s.
If you take the M3 line to Marmorkirken, the interesting museum is just around the corner. Enjoy exploring exhibitions about design past, present and future. Finish the tour in the museum's exciting shop or visit the café, which is of course decorated with Danish design and handicrafts.

Experiences with the Metro
Did you see it too?

Between the lines: “Right now, we're not living – we're surviving.”
Between the lines: Every day, thousands of people travel on the Metro, and behind every face there is a story. In Frederiksberg, we met Karina and 15-year-old Sigrid, who has fought hard to get where she is today.

Guide: What to do on a rainy day in Copenhagen
Drip, drip, drip. We can't escape a little rain every now and then, but luckily the city is full of cozy experiences with a roof over your head - and the Metro will get you there dry.
