My Copenhagen: Stylist and TV host Julie Blichfeld loves life in Østerbro, where she finds the perfect combination of city life and peaceful breaks by the water or at Kastellet.

Julie Blichfeld, 34, stylist, host of the new DR program Aldrig mere tøjkrise (No More Clothing Crises) and runs the vintage web shop Collect23. Lives in Østerbro with her husband and two boys.

    1. When does Copenhagen feel most like your city?

“When I cycle or walk through the city early in the morning, while the sun hits the lakes and everything is still quiet. Sometimes I take my children with me in the cargo bike, and while they eat snacks, we talk about everything from the swans on the lake to who their favorite Pokémons are.”

A morning dip in Nordhavn followed by coffee or juice at Original Coffee – there is something special about the combination of sea, sky, and city life.

    2. Which place in the city do you always return to?

“Kastellet. It's my ultimate sanctuary. Green, peaceful, and steeped in history. I love walking there when I need some fresh air and perspective in the middle of everyday life.”

    3. What hidden gem in the city is almost too good to share?

"Lagoni on Ryesgade was a hidden gem for me for a few years, but now most people in Østerbro have discovered it. And with good reason :)

Otherwise, I recommend buying ingredients for a homemade picnic and sitting on a blanket in Fælledparken by the lake. It's one of my favorite weekend activities with the kids. We bring a ball and some soap bubbles, and everyone gets to recharge with both play and fresh air."

With My Copenhagen, we take you on a surprising journey through the city, where well-known Copenhageners and local legends share their hidden gems.

    4. What is your best tip for a unique experience in Copenhagen?

"A morning dip in Nordhavn (preferably combined with a sauna at the bathing club, which I finally joined after a long wait), followed by coffee or juice at Original Coffee. There is something special about the combination of sea, sky, and city life. It's like resetting the day before it even begins. I rarely have time to do this, but when I do, I always think I should do it every day."

    5. Which metro station is your favorite?

"Trianglen - it feels like my heart. Close to my apartment, right by the lakes, close to my friends, everyday life and everything that makes the city feel like home."
