My Copenhagen: Pastry chef Jonas Dahl Grue – known from Bachelorette – often finds his way to Rantzausgade in Nørrebro when he wants a good coffee, a durum, a beer in the sun, or an evening out for dinner.

Jonas Dahl Grue, 32, pastry chef and author of baking and children's books. Shares delicious recipes spiced with a little everyday life on @yornas. Lives in Frederiksberg.

1. When does Copenhagen feel most like your city?

"Copenhagen feels most like my city when I jump into the harbor. Either on a freezing cold January day with a sauna afterwards, or on a summer day with friends and cold beers. I think it's a very unique thing about Copenhagen that there are so many bathing facilities, and I love using them. I especially love summer in Copenhagen, when the city is buzzing with life and people just sit down anywhere along the harbor and enjoy themselves."

Jonas Dahl Grue loves to geek out over beautiful cakes

My best tip for a unique cake experience is to order afternoon tea at Nimb. Here you can enjoy delicious cakes in beautiful surroundings, spiced with a little Tivoli magic.

2. Which place in the city do you always return to?

"I always return to Rantzausgade for one reason or another. Coffee at Darcy's, a durum from Falaffelkælderen, a beer in the afternoon sun at Kølsters Tolv Haner, or an evening at Baka d'Busk. There are so many good things on that street."

3. What is your best tip for a unique cake experience in Copenhagen?

“If you've never been to La Glace for cake and hot chocolate, you owe it to yourself to try it! It's a unique cake experience and incredibly cozy. Otherwise, you should order afternoon tea at Nimb. Here you can enjoy delicious cakes in beautiful surroundings, spiced with a little Tivoli magic.”

With My Copenhagen, we take you on a surprising journey through the city, where well-known Copenhageners and local legends share their hidden gems.

4. What hidden gem in the city is almost too good to share?

"It has to be Skjolds Plads. There are three fantastic places here. Oberra – fantastic food, cozy and relaxed atmosphere. Siciliansk Is – they have the best ice cream, no question about it. And then there's Bageriet B, which is high on my list of favorite bakeries in Copenhagen."

5. Which metro station is your favorite?

"I love Havneholmen because it's so crazy with trash cans on the ceiling, clocks that run fast, and train schedules that are turned on their side. I love anything that stands out and makes people think 'wtf?'"
