Wonderful Copenhagen's initiative, CopenPay, rewards environmentally conscious actions with free experiences in Copenhagen throughout the summer. For example, you can take the Metro and receive these five rewards.

CopenPay is organised by Wonderful Copenhagen and runs from 17 June to 17 August 2025. The aim is to nudge tourists and locals to make more environmentally conscious choices.

When Copenhagen launched CopenPay last year as a new experience economy where tourists and locals could exchange environmentally conscious actions for free experiences, it attracted a lot of attention around the world - and this year it has grown even bigger with the participation of almost 100 Copenhagen attractions.

Here are five examples of free experiences you can be rewarded with by taking the Metro.

    Arbejdermuseet: Get free admission

At Arbejdermuseet, you can step directly into Danish history in the exhibition Vi er arbejdere. Enter the damp chamber of a maid, experience the cramped life of a working-class family, and discover the resilience that shaped Danmarks arbejderbevægelse.

If you take the Metro to Nørreport, just take a selfie and show it at the entrance to get free entry.

    Frodes Folkehus: Free organic coffee

Frodes Folkehus is a wonderful cultural centre with a focus on community and social relations, where you can experience everything from communal dining to activities such as table tennis, board games, creative events and concerts.

Folkehuset is located right next to the metro station in Vanløse, and if you take the metro there, Frodes Folkehus will reward you with a free cup of organic coffee in the community centre or on the roof terrace.

Bryggeriet Apollo: Free soft drinks or beer

In the heart of Copenhagen - right between Vesterbrogade and Tivoli - you'll find the historic Bryggeriet Apollo, where the beer is brewed in the large iconic copper kettles in the centre of the restaurant.

You can enjoy breakfast, lunch and long dinners, and no matter which meal you choose, you can get a free soft drink or beer if you've taken the Metro there - it's just a short walk from Rådhuspladsen.

    Stromma Danmark: Free harbour tour

Fancy a little boat trip? Take the Metro to Gammel Strand and Stromma Danmark will reward you with a 70-minute harbour tour on board Hygge - a small electric boat with room for 12 guests.

Enjoy one of Copenhagen's most enjoyable boat tours with an English and Danish-speaking guide, taking you through the canals and past the city's hidden gems and iconic sights.

    Nationalmuseet: Free ice cream

With CopenPay you can kill two birds with one stone at the Nationalmuseet. Here you can explore Danish history from vikingetiden to the present day - and get a free ice cream when you buy your entrance ticket.

All you have to do is take the Metro to Rådhuspladsen nearby, and then you can look forward to eat a free ‘Danmark’ ice cream with rhubarb, strawberries and liquorice from Hansens Is.
