Copenhagen sparkles with light: Take the Metro to a city-wide light festival
Join the light run on Sunday 9 February
Copenhagen Light Festival also offers a number of pop-up events. The biggest one is the Light Run, which invites everyone to run among the beautiful light installations in the city centre.
All participants will be given light chains before the start, and you decide whether you want to run the 3 or 7 km route.
Have you seen the light?
Copenhagen Light Festival is once again ready to light up the city with more than 50 light works spread all over Copenhagen. The light works are switched on every day from 17:00-22:00 until 23 February.
The sparkling oases of light are primarily located in the city centre, but you can also take the Metro to light experiences at DR Byen, Ørestad, Sydhavnen, Nørrebro and Østerbro.
Copenhagen Light Festival is free for everyone, so just hop on the Metro and explore the lights. Read on for inspiration for some of the unique experiences.
5,000 coloured mirrors
Close to the metro station København Syd, at Vestre Kirkegård, you will find the work Soleil Nuit by Sébastian Levfèvre. It consists of two large discs with 5,000 coloured mirrors that reflect the light and the surroundings, creating a kaleidoscope of colours.
The mirrors move with the wind, transforming it into a constantly changing experience. The work is set up on the grass in front of Nordre Kapel.

Step onto the colourful landscape of undulating patterns and watch your movements bring new lights and colours to life and challenge your senses.

Luminous harp playing
Right by Nørrebro Station you can experience another luminous sculpture - Harp by Julien Menzel. The light work is inspired by the marvellous strings of the harp and transforms as you move.
Enjoy the sound side of the piece - created by Francois Gauriaud and Mevenig Baron - which helps create a mesmerising visual symphony of sound, light and form.

Experiences with the Metro
Did you see it too?

Between the lines: “Right now, we're not living – we're surviving.”
Between the lines: Every day, thousands of people travel on the Metro, and behind every face there is a story. In Frederiksberg, we met Karina and 15-year-old Sigrid, who has fought hard to get where she is today.

Drip, drip, drip. We can't escape a little rain every now and then, but luckily the city is full of cozy experiences with a roof over your head - and the Metro will get you there dry.
