Between the lines: "I live with hope"
Every day, thousands of people travel on the Metro, and behind every face there is a story. Between the lines, these stories unfold in a series of short portraits.
I came to Denmark from Iran in 2022. After two years, my residence permit was denied because they didn't believe what I told them.
Now my case is going to court. There, it will be decided whether I can get a permanent residence permit in Denmark.
This time will be different because I have a skilled lawyer. His name is Bjørn, and he is a huge help to me. I am hopeful because he is.
I did not want to become an asylum seeker. But my hands were tied, and it was my only option.
All the interviews are stressful and exhausting. Both for my body and my mind. I need to work on finding a peaceful place inside myself. My Christian faith helps me.
It has been an emotional rollercoaster. But slowly I am beginning to find joy and appreciate the little and big things.
Having hope is a way of life for me.
