Adventure in your own city: 3 unique hotels in Copenhagen

Even though Copenhagen is your home, there are plenty of opportunities to experience the city anew. For example, did you know you can book an overnight stay in a converted crane, a shelter on the water or the world's smallest hotel?

    Go floating camping in Sluseholmen

If you need to experience something new, a night in one of Blue Raft's floating shelters is a great option. Here you can sleep under the stars while the gentle waves of the harbour lull you to sleep.

The cabins are located in the middle of the water - and the only way to get there is in the accompanying rowing boat from Frederikskaj near Sluseholmen.

The two cabins have four and six beds respectively, a toilet and a large sun deck with tables and benches where you can enjoy the view in all directions.

Exclusive overnight stay at the top of a crane

If you really want to treat yourself and your significant other, partner, friend or girlfriend, the ultimate luxury experience awaits you in Nordhavn, where an old coal crane has been transformed into one of Copenhagen's most exclusive retreats: The Krane.

Take the Metro to Orientkaj and enjoy a stay in the exclusive suite, where you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the sea, sky, harbour and city. The suite is decorated in a modern and minimalist style, with everything in black in honour of the crane's past as a coal crane.

A stay at The Krane also gives you access to two stunning terraces and the unique Amazing Krane Spa with jacuzzi, sauna, shower and floor-to-ceiling windows.

    Experience the world's smallest hotel

In the heart of Vesterbro, you'll find Central Hotel & Café - a tiny picturesque house with a mini coffee bar and a 12 m2 hotel on top with just one room.

The place is owned by a local restaurateur and former set designer, who has built every single handmade detail himself, giving it a vintage, cosy and 1950s vibe.

If you take the Metro to Frederiksberg Allé, you can enjoy the special atmosphere on Værnedamsvej and Tullinsgade until you reach your destination.
