Take the kids on the Metro

Take two children under the age of 12 for free when travelling on the Metro

Rules for children travelling alone or with others

Children travel at approximately half price alone and free when travelling with an adult until the age of 12. Up to two children under the age of 12 can travel free with a ticketed adult.

Whether your child under 12 needs a ticket depends on whether they are travelling alone or with someone else who has a ticket.

Children over the age of 12 must always have their own ticket, however, your child travels at approximately half price.

When they turn 16, they travel at the adult fare.

You can read more about the ‘Child’ customer type in the Common National Travel Rules on page 6.
